That's great, but I couldn't warrant having a number plate that is worth more than both my E30's put together... it's just not right. Think I'll stick to what I've got...

I dont think the owner of that plate has engaged his brain cell on this one.. No one has an e30 worth enough to warrent spending that much on a number plate for it that cant be transferred onto another car due to the
'specialist nature' of the plate..

They probably paid Ԛ£499 from the DVLA for it lol

Yeah... that's what happened with me. I asked for D351GNS, DES19N and DES16N and they told me that they were all un-assigned and currenlty unavailable, and there was no view to ever releasing them...

Then bugger me, they pop up in separate auctions... tossers!

The owner of that plate paid Ԛ£999 for it. I know becuase i could have bought it. The day E plates was realesed, i got on the phone and had to hit the re-dial button for 2 hours non stop. I eventually got through and i asked about E30 BM. It was available for Ԛ£999, but i decided against buying it because you cant really put it on any other car apart from a E30 and that didn't really make good business sense to me, so i decided against buying it. I bought E4 BMW, E3 BEN & E9 BEN instead. I thought they made much better prospects of making me my millions in time  Trying to sell E30 BM for Ԛ£7k is very, very optimistic in my books. Still you just never know.

I'm just saying number plates can be outragously expensive and he's got it on a car worth about 10% of what the plate is worth.

Yeah, I was getting all confused with the number, hence my pathetic attempts at the digits.

Still, Ԛ£7k for the E30 plate is just daft. Maybe a Playboy with an M3 Evo as a 'toy' amongst his Lambos and Ferraris could warrant it alongside L4MBO and 350 SPY or something...

DVLA sold E30 EVO for about Ԛ£2k less than the Ԛ£7k, so that sort of discounts your thoughts.

You will also illigally have to space them. The actual plate is E3 OBM. Doesn't look so appealing now does it. Go on come and buy my E4 BMW instead for Ԛ£2k

Illegal spacing, i didn't know that officer. Thank you for pointing that one out....

Now look at my Plate E30 0K obviously it's E3 00K re spaced. Which is easier to read and or remember in event of an accident / incident?? OK i'm slightly biased here!

Or i could really take the p!ss and fiddle it to read E B00K but that would be asking for trouble from the boys in blue.

I think it depends a lot on whwer you live too mate. I've been pulled in the booty wagon a few times for my plate, but after a couple of minutes they start talking about the car, then just give me a ticking off and leave. Probably has something to do with the fact that i always tell them i've just sold the plate and i've got a different one to go on the car the following week. You just have to hope you dont run into the same officers a few weeks later
