im getting very very grumpy!

i cant find a 325i sport for the life of me. i dont think running an e30 m3 for a daily would make much sence (although im considering it) so im having to look at an e36 (waits for a kicking :o )

grrrrr. bloody wierd. year ago when i looked for one there were loads of well priced seemingly decent ones around. now there is feck all.

<sorry everyone just pissed off as i need a car and the only thing around of any real woth is a 190 cosworth merc and a 328i sport> !!!!

:x

cough.

Don't get angry!! Just wait for the right one to come along and it will!

There's a nice looking silver one in the for sale section!

Keep looking on autotrader/ebay/freeads etc

As Dave says I am sure one will come along - for gods sake don't buy an E36, you will really will regret it...

I'd let you buy mine but Dave has first dibs on it (if I was selling it)....

john

i don't get how you see any adverts on that site - i have just registered for what seems like no reward whatsoever. there's 3 pictures there, an e30 centre, and no links for ads. am i just being a bit stupid?

frosted

it's not easy finding a decent car especially if it hasn't been manufactured for a while. i suggest you get your local freeads early every day it comes out (or read it in the local one-stop) and scour the ads and jump on any that sound decent. most of the time the trouble is that decent cars go to the first buyer that sees them - so getting to them first is key. also contact and regularly scour the usual internet sources - wlnautomotive, the zone (obviously), autotrader, bmwcc etc etc - let them all know what you're looking for. also if you see a decent looking motor parked up somewhere put a note under the wiper - you never know! also go round a few of the nearer bmw dealerships - they don't want e30s knocking around when traded in - but they might just give you a ring before knocking it on to the trade. same goes for other makes dealerships too.

Paul are you using 'zonelab' fire wall by any chance? I used to and it stopped me accessing the bmwcarshowroom site, only ever got to see part of the front page from memory, never could view the adverts...

hmmm yes although you are right i'm not convinced of the merits of buying a rusty car unless looking for a project or something particularly rare (which e30s are not - yet). it tends to be symptomatic of a car not carefully looked after.

it may be a nasty job but it only takes a couple of hours to jack a car up and clean the underside and arches and then waxoyl it all when dry every year - very effectively preventing rust from forming. the same can be said for regular paintwork polishing - so if this has not been done then how has the rest of the car been looked after?

a looked after car is well worth being patient for i reckon.
