I was wondering if the 5-litre V12 (M50?) engine has the same heads, pistons, etc. as the 2.5-litre M20 engines (as fitted in the 325i, etc), because I notice the cubic capacity is exactly double and that the dizzy caps look the same...
Cheers!

If you was to fit m50 24v heads to a v12 one head would be the wrong way round wouldnt it so the exhaust would become the inlet ?

There's a topic on exactly that around somewhere ed325i
Reckon it could be possible to stick one on round the wrong way and drive the cams from t'other end some how though.
