What makes you think that? Would be worth you checking with Birds in Uxbridge, the UK agents for Hartge, give them the VIN code, and they may be able to help. Also check the ECU, open it up and look if there is hartge chip.
Out of interest, post some pics up.

Would you be the chap who bought that silver bmw off ebay for about £1500 sheets? I asked the seller a few q's but he never got back to me and i missed the auction. If it is then you got a very good deal!

Thanks for the welcome guys!
....and sorry for the delay, I'm still at work!
Firstly, no I didn't buy it from ebay. It has been around my local area for years.
As far as pictures go, it's in the car park, i'll see what i can do!
And i have spoken to the owner of Birds and he thinks he can remember my car but could not find it on the system! Apparently it is one of 20 ever built and only one of 3 built in a four door!!

Nice looking car.
Birds in fact have records of all their converted cars.
Speak to Kevin Bird and although you may have to pay a little, they will be able to prove if it is a genuine car.
Take a look at your ARB and see if they are a light metallic blue.
The springs will be stamped with HARTGE whilst the dampers will be billy sports.
H27 normally fitted with a LSD of varying types and a higher percentage lock up than the standard LSDs,
Try and post up as much info as you can and the zone members may be able to help.
Feel free to ring me on 07810 650 395 if you want to chat about your car (Sat or Sun)
Regards
Iain

I seem to recall a similar looking car in the classified section in TBMW about 3 years ago. That one was the SP version. 220bhp. Iain, thoughts?

Hartge LSD is hard to tell until you strip it down and count the teeth and cogs.
The SP would be so obvious with the individual TBs.
Hartges are getting more rare, but changing topic I had the pleasure of seeing Martins H27 this weekend and its good.
Argos was there at Yeovil to testify (that he drank a gallon of cyder whilst watching the band) and a whole host of good cars were there.
All credit to a Bomber Browne who organised the display and Blatantarrogance who (a) showed me in ((b) has a good cab and (c) a good dude.
The show was good !!!!!

Was a good show, Argos did infact drink a lot of beer, when we tried to get in the rugby club at midnite, just as they were leaving, the let down of no moer beer was surpised by the site iof a pretty young barmaid, like red rag to a bull for Argos!!. Think we started about 11am, and finished drinking at 12am
It was a great weekend. Some real firsts for me.. first hartge's soft and tin tops, baur 2002 and baur e30 (both stunning) an E3 3litre, forgot to photograph it though!! A rhd M3 which I later learned was converted by hartge at a cost of £8000!! So I'm led to believe!! (Which is now for sale) A v12 750, 840, some e36 wrongness, an M1 which Bomber owns, will be good to see the restoration process on that one, his baur 2002 was amazing.
New friends made, firmer friendships established too.

There was a white 316i with aftermarket bodykit on it. Fair play to the lad, it's his first car!!! Had 17" six spoke alloys. Could you mean that one?E30Mark wrote:I saw Sven's rice bucket hiding under the covers at his house Saturday, personally i would have taken the bus...HartgeH27 wrote:Thats the Grey one !!!! Spot my genuine mistake !!!!HartgeH27 wrote:Hartge LSD is hard to tell until you strip it down and count the teeth and cogs.
You can tell the ratio this way only.
Not sure how you can tell the difference between 25 and 40% lock up ?
Anyway, send me some detailed photos as discussed this morning and we can talk further.

measure the RWtq, then jack up one rear and set the torque wrench to 25%, then 40%, should turn @ one of those settings dude
old school, but it works , use the hub nut obn the rear.
