Anybody out there got a South African E30? What spec?

I saw a few when I was searchin for my first E30 and I've got one now. Good thing is they generally have a good spec with air conditioning, big fuel tanks and the almost bullet proof sump guard. I think they have less sound proofing though?

Just wondering if many others of these cars have made it to the UK?

Not that rust prone. How many other cars of the 80's era do you still see around that are in better condition?

Sierras? Allegros? Renaults? Volvos?

Guess by the sparse response on this topic that they're not that common.

Hmm, well, I own a 89 325i.... BUT... I do live in South Africa. Most of the cars here do have a bit of rust, but definitly nothing that cant be sorted out - but that, I think, is cause we dont salt our roads etc. If you are doing an import, then make sure that you buy one from inland - i.e. Johannesburg/ Pretoria - The hot and dry areas. A lot of the ones from the coast have a tad more rust. And yes, aircon etc. are a great bonus, arent they.

Cheers Stevin, looks like a good site you've got going. Might be spending 2-3 months in SA middle of next year  Girlfriend not entirely impressed but promised her a trip out there.
