I called this morning to get the insurance ready for when I get a Sport. After giving the details I sat on hold for over 5 mins patiently waiting but getting more and more nervous incase something went wrong.
They finally came back and gave me bad news saying that my current insurers wont insure me on a 325 Sport until Im 30 even though I have 7 years no claims and the car is garaged etc.

I said that was no good and asked what else I could do so Im going to have to cancel my current policy and take out a new one. I got a new quote and its Ԛ£70 cheaper to insure the BMW than the Astra GSI! I lose 7 months no claims but that wont make much difference.

Roll on saturday. :D

nice one!!

bit odd they wont insure you tho!! I could get insurance for the same Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ as a normal 325i on a sport and thats at 20 with 1yrs ncb and the car on the drive!! Insurance doesnt make sense does it?!!

Who were your insurers?

Yeah insurance is a messed up world.
I could insure a Subaru Legacy with full Impreza WRX running gear and interior etc for 400 less than the Astra when I was in NI.

Im with Performance Direct at the minute. Theyre pretty decent so far and willing to help so Im gonna stick with them.

Yeah that is crazy  I was 21 when I got my Sport and it only cost Ԛ£120 more to insure than the Cav SRi that i had at the time.

I was with Privilege and they refused to insure me on my current M50 325i, said i needed to be over 25 etc etc. I laughed at them and cancelled the policy on the spot, gave up a whopping 9 months of a policy tho.
:cens: losers they were! :?

I got a quote online from Tescos for 650 which was good but it says the car has to be standard. Same for HIC?

HIC will cover lowered suspension, performance exhaust, air filter and aftermarket wheels as standard, just make sure you tell them tho.
