I recognize that upmarket establishment.
Looks like it was well overdue the axe to be honest. It's suprising it hadn't had a nasty accident while being driven in this state!
May it rest in (rusty) pieces.

Just to clarify something.
THOSE ARE NOT JACKING POINTS.
Those square pads are where the factory lifting gear moved the body around when the car was being built. The reason so may E30's rust here is because people jack on them. They were never designed to take that much load, so the floor distorts, cracks the underseal and then the rust starts.
If you want to jack the front of an E30, use the front chassis rails, or the front cross member.
Ian.

why not?Blitz wrote:It doesnt look a sport.
early sport r.i.p
theres plenty more of these around. and most are clinging onto there mots(and jacking points, sills.... etc)
i used to really like the early sport.
not so much now. i think i prefer the later model. reason being is that there are still plenty of real nice late ones around in fantastic condtion(although theres plenty more turds also).
pretty much all of the early ones are hanging. most have been tarted up, with poor weilding and filler.
when you can pick up one for £200 and sell the diff for £250, then theres no point trying to sell the thing as a whole.
ants old one looked fantastic though.

...but don't, whatever you do, jack the car up by it's sump!!!
Erm, someone I know, let's call him Bob, jacked his first E30 (a beautiful Black Tech 1 Sport) up by the sump, did some work, drove to the BMW dealer afterwards to pick some parts up, then drove home. (about a 6 mile round trip)
When Bob arrived home the phone was already ringing and it was the BMW dealers to see if I (whoops, I mean Bob) had an oil leak as he'd left a lake outside their front doors... so he looked underneath, and sure enough there was a gaping hole in the sump. Bob had been a very silly person. The dealers promptly came and picked the car up and carted it off to their workshop where luckily they had an alloy welding machine.
Bob was very relieved to hear that there was no further damage to the Sport.
Bob was very, very lucky.
Bob asked me to warn everyone not to do the same silly thing as he did.
