Hi
Separate but related....years ago I remember seeing several 2 door 320s ('83/'84) with Bavaria i written below the beading on both doors. Cars were usually bronze and print was beige-ish in colour and 'in joined up' writing. I believe they were special editions from certain dealers but I couldn't find much info on them. Definately weren't some Halfrauds tranfers though.
Cheers
Al

Bavaria, apart from the location in Germany of BMW, it is normally found on the Ltd edition cars of the early 80's and those bound for the US. May well be BMW UK using up parts from their parts bin, as they don't use this title anymore!
Used to be found on the E3's, and e23's.

' Bavaria' was a model name used in the U.S on E3 (2500, 2800 , 3.0 etc) saloons . In a world of 8.2 litre Cadillacs ,size mattered .spending the price of a house on a car with 'only ' a 3.0 engine would have been considered foolhardy so BMW decided to delete the model script and replace it with a bavaria script thinking that the average dumb septic would be impressed by this exotic I.E expensive sounding name. As the years went by council types and losers happened upon these shiny scripts and started applying them with wanton abandon to assorted landfill in the same way that losers apply M badges to flotsam nowadays.

Ooooh... get you.
Wouldn't catch me with an 'M-Power' badge on the back of my chariot!
I must admit to wanting to put a Munich Legends sticker in the rear window to make out I know my sausages when I see them... is this as bad?

A munich legends sticker in your rear window usually implys that 1. you used to have money (until they relieved you of most of it) 2. you're driving an overpriced turd of dubious parentage 3. you probably walk funny and sitting down is uncomfortable. In my humble opinion this is an even more offensive addition than a gold plated M badge ! ,and definately more detrimental to the resale value of ones chariot. Get them stanley blades out now boys !!

Alpinachris, read my first post that tells you when and on what cars the bavaria script was used on (E3s were current from 68-77, i think?) . ALL bavaria badges on other model BMWs will have been fitted by sad owners trying to elevate the status of their sad insignificant turds. P.S for anyone who may be interested i have for sale a bavaria script ,Ԛ£20 . I guarantee it will make your car go faster and make you more of a hit with the ladies !!
