Been to Bexley's and got a list of work as long as my arm that "needs doing". Thought it wise to get a second opinion.
Where else, other than Bexley Motor works...

...can I take the M3? I'm sure I read somewhere that there was another specialist in my neck of the woods. That being SE London and Kent type of area.

Sadly it seems that the specialists are of the "Old skool" mentality. List everything and get the hump when the customer dosen't fancy a grand and a half bill!
Even modern dealers have some form of priority rating for work. So "Brake pads 99% worn" will be high and "Exhaust box just starting to corrode but not blowing" will be low.
I only want the bare bones of the servicing done by a specialist. Simply for the invoice to show the next owner. Everything else I'll do myself cos I can
What were you listed btw?

Oh you know, not a lot, just:
HT leads
Air hoses
Electric fan
Engine tune
Propshaft coupling
Gearbox coupling
Oil filter housing
Front crossmember
Power steering belt

Surpised that Inlet Blocks arent on there or Suspension bushes. They tend to be the things that go on these cars.
In fairness, a lot of that you could do yourself. Leads, Hoses, Fan, Couplings and PAS belt.
Depending on what you have at home you might be able to so the oil housing and the cross member.
Engine Tune is after the other bits anyway. And that will only cost a couple hours labour at most. So its not too bad really.

I'll try and do some myself then. The quote weighed in at about Ԛ£1300 so I had better start diggin'! Just bought some ht leads so I'm getting there!
Anyone else got anything else on offer?
