Afternoon all,

I recently joined up after reading about E30zone and the cars of Alec and Simon in Total BMW.
Have to say it looks a good site!

I am new to the BMW scene but I have always lusted after an E30 M3 and have now decided to do something about it.

I'd apreciate your M3 contributors general views on the best places to research the cars, buy and service them.
I'd also apreciate views on the BMW car club GB (worth joining?) and my local specialist Bexley Motor Works.

I hope this isn't another annoying newbie post, if these are common topics just point me in the direction of them! (PM if you wish)

Thanks a lot for the advice, hope to catch up with some of you at some point and I apologise now if I dribble on your evo spoiler :notworthy:

welcome to the site mate, i'm sure the m3 boyos will be along soon enough to tell you all you need to know

other than that it might be a good plan to try searching for a few things too see what knowledge you can biuld, it might teach you a few things so you can ask about more specific things should you need to

welcome, relax and enjoy

Welcome to the zone buddy

The car club is worth joining in my opinion, plenty to do, get involved in and also attend too...There's always something to do. Even if you ain't purchased a m3 in the not to distant future then come along to Gaydon this year for the National BMWCC Show, well worth it.

There are 2 things I am interested in: buying guides and working out what was/ wasn't original equipment and when. Any good books people can recommend?

The Gaydon National show is 20th August isn't it?
I am doing a 24 hour kart race that weekend!

i would recommend the E30 restoration bible, it was writen by a zoner and it is very good! buying guides and loads of infop on maintance, common probs and tuning. covers all E30's but does have more on the 325is and the M3 :D

You can get it from brookland books on the web!
