THE GARAGE HAS JUST TOLD ME THE CAR WENT IN FOR A NEW MOT
AND WAS BENT (LOOKS LIKE THE OLD OWNER LIKED TO GO OFF ROAD).

SO TIME TO START LOOKING AGAIN. :?

Mate, i feeel for you. I just bought a diamond schwarz 325 tourer which only needed a bit of welding for the mot.

After the whole of the passenger footwell disappeared in a pile of brown metal and 5 seconds of light tapping stood up and walked off for a breather!

Caught my sleeve on the gutter trim which came off and found it had had a whole front left hand side right up to rear wheel arch fitted evidenced by double skin under gutter moulding.

Carpet out and found kinks in the transmission tunnel and a torn weld at the bulkhead end.

Pillar trims off and found bird poo welding at the roof level where the side had been welded on at the windscreen pillar and the door pillar.

Nice cut and shut.

Car wasn't MOT'd again!

Looked immaculate on the outside, underneath was a nightmare amd a dangerous one at that.

I had a similar experience with a corolla gt many years ago, it hurts! Luckily it sounds as if Matty325 never actually bought the offending vehicle.

my little bro bought a polo coupe gt a while ago (even though i told him to avoid a car with one very suspiciously rusty side) and at mot time it needed a new n/s sill. when we pulled the old one off, we found a whole heap of fibreglass, a sill panel welded over the old flattened sill and a corrugated floorpan!!! the n/s sill had been pushed against the transmission tunnel at some point!

upon closer inspection, the roof was wrinkly, the B pillar could be flexed by hand etc etc etc...

lucky it only cost £150 really :D
