Yeah, 1988 is all good, and the touring was first built as a 325i in 1987, then the 320i was introduced, then 318i and 316i didn't come along until 1991 iirc.

yup-87 was a good year for the e30- finally getting a properly practical drift slaaag in the form of the 325i touring.
mind you, tourings were available before as "bespoke" coach built convesions
