had to share my joy with someone cos the wife just doesn't share my enthusiasm, you no how it is when they're tripping over half sprayed wings and having to go pick up spares from the shops, anyway bought a 325sport for Ԛ£600 back in august and thought it needed a few mechanical jobs ,couple of oil leaks, steering rack leaking, hole in the sump nothing to major tho,how wrong can you be!
I did those jobs n took it for the mot, christ, the list was never ending, its had to date, new brakes all round, new fuel pipes and filter,a nightmare finding the fault on the abs (nearly renewing everything in the process),emissions you name it,but the best one was a 'touch' of welding on the jacking points, my god when I stripped the arch liners out its a wonder my boy didn't fall thru the floor.
I mailed Scotty Burris some pics,I thought it was a goner, however I took it round to my local bodyshop and he said he thought it was repairable, told me if I stripped the carpets etc out to save him time he would have a go, imagine my glee when I called in on my way home from work and there before my peepers was my shining mot cert and my car with a new floor pan.
My next bit of good news came when I spotted an ad in my local ad mag for a 325 engine plus 'other bits too many to list Ԛ£50' thought I'll have some of that, still laughing now,he pulled up in a transit and unloaded, engine, prop shaft ,drive shafts, lsd, steering rack, bbs wheel, front n rear lights, brakes ,calipers n discs, alternator, oil cooler plus boxes of bits I haven't been able to get through for the tears in my eyes, and to cap it all he was telling me the engine had only been rebuilt 1k miles ago.
Sorry its a bit long winded but its amazing how one day you seem to be treading the grapes but the next you're drinking the wine,i'm like a dog with 2 at the moment.Happy motoring to you all,now its getting there I might make one of those meets one day.

Hiya Paul! Eventually found the thread you were on about! Having read the list of stuff u got for your Ԛ£50, i can say with envy.. "YOU JAMMY FERKING CERNT!!!!" I thought you'd landed on your feet when u said you got an engine alone, yet couldnt believe it when u reeled off the list of spares!
Glad to say i got first dabs on the LSD. That will be used while the diff off my sport gets refurbed this year! Picking that up on Saturday. YES!
Only 1 thing i need to question..... i thought your 325 was an SE, not a sport???????... in fact im sure i remember YOU telling me you had an SE the day you bought it.

Ԛ£50, good find mate, it's all worth it in the long run I can tell ya!
Scott, you keep saying you need to save money towards your sport and changing cars in the process, so why bother buying an LSD for the sake of a few weeks of not having one?!?! logic...

Im buying an LSD so i can run my sport while the sport lsd is being refurbished. Im selling my grey 325 to pay for the sport to be refurbed, but as soon as i sell my grey one, i need transport... so hopefully i can get the engine in and box in, and use this diff while i get my diff refurbed.Jimbob wrote: Scott, you keep saying you need to save money towards your sport and changing cars in the process, so why bother buying an LSD for the sake of a few weeks of not having one?!?! logic...

nah, i HAD one, but sold it, and its a pain in the ass to sell an open diff, so the LSD one will be re-saleable when my sport is all minted up again (that'll be summer 2010 then!)

Ha Ha! I did have suspicions Jhonno but when he pulled up in a van with his works name and number on the side I thought nobody could be that daft, mind you he did empty it rather quickly, and the boys in blue haven't been a knocking (not yet anyway)
