Perhaps he bought his when they very first came out and then shut his eyes for 20 years, didn't they only make the 2door initially with the 4 door, touring etc. coming along later or something?

Sure that wasn't only at the very start of E30 production - ie when the 323i was king? He clearly doesn't know what he's on about. Maybe he's got an M3 - not many 4-door (E30) M3s around!

I think Im right in saying that the 325i Sport was only ever officially a 2 door model as well - the 4 door Mtech cars were options from the dealer but not sold as a 'Sport'.
