Been pulling my hair out last 2 weeks in ref to this steering rack woe i had...and yes it was an E30 rack but just had E36 rods & ends fitted hence no modification needed when fitting...

Finaly got the thing tracked today after replacing one of the track rods cuz it sheared when we were fitting it

Anway.....

gets back from the tyre place today after forking out 100 for the rack and all the headache....then i get offered a e36 m3 steering rack complete still on the car which had front end Dmg..rack was untouched luckly so its sitting there still on the car and would of literaly took a drink for it as its family...

Nice one...

Now do i got through all the BS again to get these racks changed over, hope to god the rack really 'isnt' faulty as he didnt drive it and were only going on the look of it which is no visible Dmg whatsoever..

But i can get my hands on the modified steering UJ for peanuts..

what would you do?

sell this rack which you piad 100 for and hope to get yer money back then get the 3e6m3 for a drink and the uj for next to nothing then get it tracked..or just stick with what you got..perfectly working just been tracked e30 rack

Stick with what you've got I'd say, considering the hassle you've gone through.

Get the E36 M3 rack as well and sell it on here for a bit of profit - I for one would be interested :)
