I need to get the roof and bonnet of my tourer resprayed due to stone-chips and other self-inflicted damage (don't ask
). The question is will the sprayed panels always stand out as having been recently done compared to the rest of the 17 year old paint work, or can it be done so it all matches up?

If its a good paintshop then they will be able to match it pretty well so you wont notice.

I would rekon on spending at the very least £250 for the roof and bonnet to be done at a decent sprayshop.

if you can find a bodyshop that would spray a bonnet and roof for £250, then i will eat my E30!!!I would rekon on spending at the very least £250 for the roof and bonnet to be done at a decent sprayshop.
your probably looking at £250 just for the materials they're gonna use. spraying cars is ridiculously expensive!!!
i just had a new rear panel welded into my E30, coz the old one went rusty, and i got a quote from 2 different people to spray it, both of them said at least £400!!!
people underestimate the cost of spraying so much!
sorry to put a downer on things mate, but im just being realistic!!

Anyone remember that blue touring that was on I thing Wheeler Dealers. They put a new bonnet on the car which they had to spray first. Anyway Ed China said you gan get the price down if you do most of the prep yourself might be an idea

my local guy painted the front bumper and valance, rear quarter and bootlid on my sport for £140.
IMO £250 will get a bonnet and roof painted no problem.

Yep that sounds about right, and that might be mates rates slightly too. Was quoted by the garage i was working for £150 to paint a door, but then the manager was a budget orientated prickSimon13 wrote:good body work is at least £150 a panel so i'm told by a good sprayer i know
