What is it with the m62 and car fires,i am working in Yorkshire and on the road this morning there was a silver citroen on fire and i mean on fire.
Couple of weeks ago on the way home there was an old range rover on fire.
This has really got me thinking as i have no fire Extinguisher
in my cab and the six,not worried about works van lol.

Well what do you do how does it happen its never crossed my mind until this morning.
Do bmw still sell the fire Extinguisher
that come with the cars when new.

Cheers

This morning the Staples catalogue had arrived. Desided to actually read it before filing it away in the bin, and saw some firemaster extinguishers for just £6.99!

On the actual staples website, they are £9.99 each, but if you use the catalogue code, you get them for £6.99. Here are the codes:

6A-502 032 - BLACK
6A-502 033 - BLUE
6A-502 034 - RED
6A-502 035 - ALUMINIUM
6A-502 036 - CARBON

Seen some on the internet going for around £20 each!!. I'm getting one for the car and one for the garage.

They sell extinguishers but probably not with the E30 seat mounts. The originals come up from time to time, they were £47 new, I picked one up second hand for £50, as they are rare as hens teeth. Not sure it will still work, I just wanted one regardless.

You can pick up a handheld extinguisher cheaply and keep it in the boot, which is what I intend to do until i can afford a plumbed in system.

Well fcuk me about to weeks ago, there is a scrape yard on the way to the job.
I had to nip out to the builder yard so i called in they had a white 318 is and she had the gadget and the holder bit thats under the seat but as i was in a hurry i took the empty bottle asked the guy to take the braket off for me.He said take the bottle and come back with a fiver.
Called in a couple of times but it was not off, last week it went to the scrape yard in the sky.
So now all i have is a genuine empty bmw Extinguisher.

Cheers

I really can't believe anyone drives around without a fire extinguisher in the car... Well I can because I used to - thankfully my near miss happened at home!

Just don't do it people, please! £7 from Steve's link... or watching your car burn & not being able to do anything about it. Or are you that confident about the state of all your fuel pipes etc?

Unless you own a citroen, watching your car burn must be a fairly irritating spectacle. I've just popped an extinguisher in today after trying to fix my dripping fuel lines. I think I could've lost anything up to £4 in fuel - very, very gutting.
