How hot is this, I didn't take any pics of the suspension, but they take the top of the Turrent, and chop it off, and reweld a flat piece onto it. where the coil overs can be adjusted from (camber and the sort). Car was converted 2 a road going car (ala, it ws just registered) and they put front and rear seats in. The cage goes all the way thru the firewall, onto the front turrents aswell...

Spoke 2 the guy as well, says it's still exactly the same as when the raced it except for the seats... same everything, which is pretty much a 2.7lt, with Alpina AFM, and 276cam shaft, Branches and exhaust... all like the road car, except for the Management, has a chipped ECU, that they were allowed 2 race with.

Nice looking car.

Were the 325iS Evo's the ones with ally body panels and M3 suspension?

Yes, I think so, it was the front wings and doors IIRC. The one in the pic does have 5 stud wheels 8)

Only the Evo1 road cars had the Ally Doors, Bonnet and Fenders... but the Evo1 and 2 racecars had them

My Evo 1 has the alu bits.

IIRC, none of them had headers... a mate with an Evo 2 doesn't have headers, and neither do I. Thoughts?

I can put money on it that they came with headers on the Evo2... I know it for a fact, lemme see if I can dig up the spec sheet, the Evo1 had the same exhaust manifold as a normal 325i .

The spec sheet lists an exhaust manifold, I will dig out the part number and see just what it is. The Evo 2 in my workshop has a cast manifold fitted but thats not to say it's original.
This same car has an aluminium bonnet which seems original, wings are steel. The suspension is the M3 setup including the front ARB which links to the struts and alloy bottom arms. Hubs are 5 stud and brakes are noticeably larger than Euro 325i Sport. Noticed that the boot hinges have additional holes drilled for lightness!

I think that the Bonnet must have been changed, cause they came out with Steel panels, the Evo 2's.

Also most of the Evo1's running around have got steel panels now, due 2 the cars being crashed in their life sometime, and the Ally panels r really hard 2 come by now.

What always amazes me about these 'lightweight' SA 325iS cars is the fact they bother to use Ally panels to reduce the weight, then slap on a heavy Mtech II kit!!!

Still a lovely car though :D

This a South African 325iS, they are different to our 325i Sports. The SA 325iS had the 5 stud M3 setup as standard.

Yea one of my alu wing has a little bit of red on it, deep down, so looks like my original silver panel got trahed at some point. Bonnet is still alu, as are the doors.
