tec1 87 sport - should I?

You know I never even thought about going for a sport i am so wrapped up in me 320i and considering a lhd 320is from england, but for 800 stg i have been offered a rhd tec1 sport, now it aint mint (for that money it wouldn't be) and it aint vrt'd, but i am sorely tempted, the only rust is on the outer arches it only has a few bubbles here and there over the rest of the body which for a 1987 is expected, but mechanicly A1, I am going to see it tommorrow (going by bus and have transfered me insurance for the day) will i drive it home?
I think if i bought it it would be a serious keeper but i have already invested time and money in the 320i that i wont get back (you never do) - so do i do it all aain just to join the sport ranks or stick wiht me 320i?
i also have everything ready for 2.7 conversion only i am polishing the head so another two weeks and i'll have that on me handes to!...
thinking out loud more than anything here folks! just annother car dilema.
i could buy and break but that would be cruel....

just be very sure your happy with the bodywork it's the major concern on these cars now. Then crash damage, then mechanic's

I've just been through all this too, bottom line is a sport will always be worth more money than a 320i.

325's i love driving them so much fun. Don't get blinkered!

yeah your right simon - i am dreading checking out the chassis! i have my fingers and toes crossed - i think more than anything i am trying to justify to myslf getting the sport and 'leaving' the 320i ! every part of me want this sport to be in good enough condition to work on, if i could just get a few pennies out of my 320i but i doubt it -
we'll have to see!
