Has anyone attempted to spray their rear lights red??
If so where did you get your red transparent spray from ??
I have read the DIY from http://e30.bmwdiy.info/red-tails/index.html
I have been looking on the net but havent had any luck.
whats the general opinion on such a mod anyway. does it work or is it worth saving up and buying the proper red lights?

Do a search for Savage Tint Spray, that's what I used to do mine in the article I wrote for this site.

I did mine and didn't think I went wild with the red spray but I got collared by the law for my red indicator one night. Didn't put an orange bulb in mind you

Did mine with some red tail light spray. They look redder here than they actually are.

imasked off the idicator and used the savage tinting spray
they will still flash red though hence why i relocated the indicator to the reverse lights
lined the revese lights on that set because i wanted an all red look but needed to keep some white so that i still got an orange flash

jonbuoy - I just noticed your amazingly shiny black bbs rims. Is it possible to see a few more pics of them. I have just bought myself some bbs rims and I want to refurb them so that they are mint but your black ones have got me thinking whether I should get mine sprayed black aswell.

those i have to say look better than the full replacement set that are all red. Agree it does make the lights look pink, tint spray all the way plus its cheaper!

I did mine with some Halfords spray I had. It was years old and I sprayed 5 cars worth out of one tin. Secret is to spray many light coats...
Got a great result, but you must prepare the unit properly... make sure it's really clean before you spray it.
