I had a clifford alarm fitted to my car locally about three years ago. While the alarm has been totally satisfactory, a problem has arisen with my car as a direct result of their negligence.

The covers on the connectors, between door and body which the wire looms pass through, have not been correctly refastened. While it isn't difficult for me to fix, the alarm was fitted nearly three years ago and now I have a fault with my central locking.

The locking has cut out, neither key nor key fob will lock the car. The alarm works fine. I guess water has got into the connectors as when I am driving along, the car will lock and unlock several times, to it's hearts content as and when it pleases.

I think I know what I need to do to fix it, thanks to the help I received in the tec section. What I want, boys and girls is your input, thoughts, opinions and ideas about whether I take some sort of revenge and if I do, in what shape or form?

Be as creative, ethical, unethical, moral or immoral, funny, serious, legal or illegal as you like.

It just pi$$es me off, the lazy feckers couldn't be arsed to put the cover back on before sliding the connector back in!! What also annoys me is after looking at the connector for 5 minutes last nite, I figured out how to reconnect it properly, which was confirmed when I read my post on the tec forum this morning. And I am a DIY mechanical novice!!!

This company has an iffy reputation at best but until now I had no issues with their work.

Fire away guys!!!

TBH mate I'm afraid you don't have a leg to stand on legally.

However if I was you I'd go around and have a chat with them, about somthing totally different, and whilst they are distracted get one of your mates to cut the door to car wiring on any of thier cars

Obviously you do this entirely at your own risc and it's nothing to do with me

not a leg to stand on right enough mate,3 years ago is a long time to prove it was there negligence and not just the bits working loose.

If there was a chance it worked itself loose, the surely the virations would have contributed to the rubber boot perishing?

I know from a legal standpoint, I have very few, if any, options but still, could have fun on local boy racer forums conducting a smear campaign?

Just looking to see if all you creative buggers out there can come up with an imaginative idea or 3

Any one who pays to have their car molested and compromised by fitting a clifford alarm surely can't be suprised when trouble starts ?

I think the good old dog poo parcel should be sufficient here.
I have a friend with a newfoundland if you need some "materials" ;)

Hey can we see a photo of the basset hound touring boot install? I'm thinking of getting a pair of black labradors myself, apparently they have very good midrange bark.

Labs great for midrange and you'll get good stereo with a twin install, but you can't beat a Basset for deep bass rumble. Assuming she actually bothers to wake up..... ;)

Never had any trouble with either clifford alarms I have had fitted to successive cars. Just the neglegence employed by the cowboys putting the car back together. So yes I can be surprised!

Never mind dogs, I'd go for the diy option! For best results, attempt after a big night out, curry or kebab optional.
