Hi guys I just joined up to the forum. I am looking for a 3 series at the minute and wondered if anyone knew of anyy good ones for sale? I also wanted to ask your guys opinion of a early model (1980's - early 90s) would be ok to drive 30 miles a day to work and back? I have no idea as I have never had a car like this before and just looking for some general advice.

welcoe to the zone m8! as i lernt whilst looking for an e30 is dont get the first one you look at and dont just buy anything from anyone!
what are you looking for? or arnt you that cleaver with e30s?
maybe somthing like an 318is??? are ment to be vrry good cars and not much in the way of bhp diffrence to the 320 and is lots chheper to run due to the fact that there is 2 less cylinders!
i dont own 1 myself neither am i verry up on them but this is what i have herd down the great vine so to speek!
good luck with finding one,just hold tight and what eva it is that you are looking for will turn up!

Hi there guys cheers for the response. To be honest I am not after anything amazingly fast, I'd rather one just in good working condition which looks a bit smart. Yeah I am completely clueless about E30's. i would idealy like a cabriolet for the summer!!

I've owned two E30s, a 318 touring and now a 325 Touring. I'm not going to offer advice on the body shape since we seem to have different requirements there
but I'd say go for the 325 if you have the choice. The running costs are not that different and the 2.5 goes really well and sounds great.
If you want a really quiet car (and if you get a cab I guess you don't) then you might find the 318 more to your taste.
Even if you are not into thrashing your car round corners and sliding it about, keep your eyes open for a car with a limited slip diff as this will help with resale value and should give you more of a chance in snow too. The other thing to look out for is rust. In the long run, your car will probably rust out before the engine dies so the life remaining in your car really shows in its paintwork.
