On the drivers door behind the speaker, my loom is bassicly buggered, electric mirrors dont work properly and central locking is fudged. I tried to have a look tonight, to many cables have been cut in the past by the looks of it, and some of the pins in the connector at the end are bent or broken.
Does any one know if these bits are available to order from BMW? I bassicly want the white connector and the loom (that includes the smaller 3 cable one). Are they easy enough to change? Or does it mean cutting wires the other end of it (I couldnt be bothered in the end to take carpet up and see where it goes from there)
Or if any one has one spare...

Luckliy for you, i have done this before !!!
The pain in the butt bit is the door connector, it can get brittle over time, just trace back from the central locking controller to the loom under the dash, and remove from the connector thats there.

Ah nice one. I had a terrible feeling they were wired in rather than connected via a plug the other end. I assume it runs under the carpet and back up to the dash then.
I really do get annoyed with E30's sometimes:(

FYI.
the wires your refering to are part of the main wire harnass that goes from the passenger side, over the gear lever area and to the drivers door.
the wire loom is massive.
might be better to fix your original one (IMO)

What you might be able to do is just to replace the section in the drivers door andthe section down to the central locking ECU, but you will need a lot of paitence !!!
