Its probably only just a bit bigger than standard if anything.
Most parts on South African built cars are actually made in South Africa, but are no different to German built stuff.
Parts of SA isn't really anymore tropical than parts of Europe and the US

It could just be an 'air-con' radiator, Im sure most SA built E30s had aircon??
If it is, its just taller than a normal rad, which would normally end just below the bottom hose connection on the right. I have one in my S50 conversion (the arrows are for the trans cooler as this was a rad for an auto)....

eye, it will just be an aircon rad, all E30's in hot climates had air-con standard
