Hmmm. Right i've decided what i'm doing now. All i have left to decide now is which kit to go for. I love the Mtech 2 kit, but no disrespect they are all over the place. I also love the kit on the blue cab and it's pictures of the car that made me decide to do another project. I'm torn between the 2 kits, so i just wanted to know what you all thought was the better looking of the 2 kits please.

RED MTECH2 OR BLUE GERMAN KIT ???

i love mtech two kits,, thoguh that blue german kit is so elegant and smooth,,, yet also so bad boy! just cos its not a original looking kit, i cant slate it! be different ;) that blue german kit goes very well make the car look newer then it is,,, its smooth, and elegant, very classy for a non standard body kit!

though mtech 2 kit,,, u just cant go wrong everyoine loves a nice tech2 :)

Like you say, the tech II has been done to death, although i haven't seen a status quo edition before! I quite like the kit on the blue car but am not sure about the gaping front valance. There you are, no help whatsoever!

The red one by far mate
If you see the blue kit in the flesh the front bumper is too rounded and dosnt reall suit the squareness of the E30
the blue kit looks a bit like the E46 style kit and if your gonna do that then you may aswell by an E46

hmmm thats an interesting choice, M-Tech2 kit, still a head turner still look good in the next 5-10 years and beyond, keeps the car original. German kit, get you more looks, some purists may dislike it, but its original looks the part and havent seen one done here in the UK so will make it a rarer car too! I'd say go for the german kit, loadsa mtech cabs around be nice to see something a little different. Ben have u got the link to that website for that kit, I seemed to have lost it in my bookmarks!

Sorry dude, but Tech 2 all the way.

The blue one, although a bloody nice looking car, looks like it's rear end is too heavy and the front doesn't look quite as good as OEM kit... it's a bit too smooth for an E30.

G.

Edit: How about introducing some subtle mods to the Tech 2 kit instead...?

:D Now you know why i posted this topic up. There is so much going for both kits and so much against both equally at the same time. I do love the Tech2, as pointed out, it wont be nothing new and i like to be different, but you can never go wrong with it. German is sexy and new, but like Tourer i dont like that front bumber at all and the side skirt is a bit boring too. I though about the German rear bumper married to a different skirt and front bumber, but the danger in that is trying to get a kit to line up with it. There is nothing worse than looking at the side profile of a car and the front, sideskirts and rear dont line up. Hoo this is so bloody frustrating :( :x

There you go gouki

But you can add changes to the Tech 2 kit to make it different... you could alter the rear diffuser section to have some sort of different definition in the lower section... the front lower valance is crying out for some additional styling also...

Food for thought.

Hmm. Food for thought. I just think that rear bumber on the blue car is the best i've seen. I'm also wondering if i can take your idea and actuallt mod the front bumber of the blue one. Fill in all the wholes so it doesb't look so chave, or even just the 2 holes on either side and leave the one in the middle? winkeye

Tech 2 i think. Other one looks too deformed and too bulky especially the rear bumper. Someone earlier sumed it up great, the blue kit is too rounded for the E30 squarness.

Geeman the lovely lady in the Avatar is the Lovely Kimberly Cooper and she's the girlfriend of a very good friend of mine :D She's one of the few truly fit girls i've ever come accross who's down to earth and a very, very nice person

Back to subject. BLUE OR RED. So far it seems to me like the blue one is slightly ahead. I might order it like Dips sugested and see if i can marry the 2 winkeye

Ben
If i were you mate i would seriousy think about seeing the German kit in the flesh before committing myself to buying it, I have seen it and i feel you may be disapointed when you get it, it looks fantastic in the pictures but the front sticks out nearly 2" further than the tech2 and the rear is nearly 3" further it makes the car look a bit disfigured add to that the fact that it is rounded also just dosnt look right close up, but at the end of the day mate its your choice
Geeman's ides of modding the tech2 is pretty good :thumb:

blue one, i believe you can get a bumper that's similar with a black rubbing strip, but i think that *is* the e46 rep mentioned above, and doesn't look quite so chunky (hangs a bit awkwardly). Try retro fitting the black rubbing strip onto that blue one though, might work....

rear bumper is like a blank canvas!! it's almost completely solid so ideal for whatever you want....

i definitely vote for blue.

Hey bootyman!

here's an idea!

why dont you leave the outside of the car fairly plain (no kits etc) and get it slammed, then phat euro wheels and a good interior, then spend the rest on an m3 e36 engine transplant?

that way the car looks like a 318i convertable, but goes like greased sh*t off a shovel

Good idea Touring, but i'm more of a poser than a speed freak. Besides i have something special planned for the engine if all goes well. Not as quick as a E36 M3 lump, but special non the less winkeye

It's dificult to gauge a proper response cause there are so many different openions. I wanted the blue kit and to sell the Mtech, but this is meant to be my everday ride so i dont want to end up making it unpractical like the Riger. We'll just have to see how it goes :x

I can't even make up my mind now.

Started off loving the blue one but the more i look at it the more i think not.

Reckon now you need the a TechII kit slammed on BBS splitties and paint it Mauritius Blue with Lotus white leather interior. And probably a few Bootyman original mods to the kit.

Are you mind reading me Ceasar cause that's exactly what i'm thinking now winkeye

Daz only problem with bonding kits it that they become weak as i found out with the blue one. Ԛ£15k to build with a bonded one off kit. Drove it for a couple of hundred miles at best, hit a couple of pot holes and the whole thing started cracking. Now it's sole for Ԛ£2.5k and back in the body shop having the kit ripped off and another kit fitted and another respray  :(
