Hi,
I have an 89 Motorsport Cabrio which I have owned for near on seven years, I have spent huge amounts of money on this car over the years with new roof (roof is power roof btw), Power steering rack/pump just done , Brakes/Disks newish. Engine rebuild with new cam & tappet's/oil seals etc.
Car is solid with only rust being rear bumper (which I keep meaning to replace)
Car has no leaks drives well has FULL Leather motorsport recaros (spelling ?)
The only problems the car has at the moment are fuel leak when filled over Ԛ£25.00 (guess its tank) and handbrake shoe that I think has jumped out of position (handbrake is only working on one side)
Car is standard except K&N cone filter and replaced door plastice sill covers with shiney crome ones
Although I have no intention of selling this I am intrested in what this car or cars like these are worth , Are they sought after or do peeps prefer the sport version (non cabrio)
Cheers David 9eRgal)

Mint Msport cabs are worth top dollar and are very sought after. I've seen them go for over Ԛ£10k and i was in the market myself at one stage. Saying that the abused ones can be bought for as little as Ԛ£4k, so it's difficult to put a value on your car really. Best thing is to get all those little problems fixed, keep her mint and see what the market has to say when you're ready to part with her

Used to look like that , Why does it not now ?woodysjw wrote:How strange is that mine is also a macau 89 motorsport cab,
with the same wheels mine used to look jus like that.
No it looks like the car in his sig now with the mtech 2 kit

in the state its in now i would say its worth about 2 1/2 or 3 on autotrader now but in the summer its top dollar.
I'd be interested to know what you guys reckon its worth? And if the lack of Mtech2 bodykit brings the price down much? I'll probley be selling my G reg grey Motorsport cab in the summer of 2007 and by then it'll probley still have less than 70k miles on the clock.

I personally think it does. I think more people associate the Tech 2 kit with a Motorsport tthan not. I looked at a couple a couple of years ago and i walked away cause i though the sellers was trying to com me. I didn't realise you could get Motosports without the kit and i thought i knew my BM's

I have always thought it would look better with kit.
next question is anyone got one for sale

Mate its an Arse to fit to an early car, Dont do it, just slam it on a set of
nice wide BBS's thats what i would do if i started over again.
Looks a lot more EuroStyle low with no side kit with some big arse wide BBS's.
