I currently have 195/50 15s on my Beemer, but they make the car look as if it is too high. Without moving away from 15"s, what is a good tyre size to go for?

I've been told that 205/55/15 is the best size. Recently bought myself a set of 15s with these size tyres on but haven't driven with them on yet.

205/55 is the factory size, if your car is low 60mm then u can get a way with a 205/50 profile. Any higher and it will look like a go cart!

Assuming I fit the 205/55 15"s, would I need to make any other modifications, as I cannot fit certain types of tyres to my front wheels as the inside tyre wall catches on the strut housing. What I'm saying is that if I fit these wider tyres are they going to cause a problem like that?
