Clutch advice

Today I fitted my first clutch,
I fitted a new fly wheel, clutch and outer plate my question is have I done it right the clutch does not spin inside the housing but I have read it should spin but mine is solid is this correct

The clutch friction plate will only spin when the pedal it pressed down.

Thanks Ben, was just worried that it so tight and won't move, last thing I want is to fit it to car to find I had done it wrong lol
