Hi All,
I'm considering buying an '88 E30 316, but I'm wary that it just won't be powerful enough to be enjoyable. So I have been looking into engine conversions but, honestly, it's probably beyond my capabilities - time and skill.
So I was wondering, does anybody know of anywhere that does full, reliable conversions?
I think an M50 conversion would be ample for me, could anybody give me an estimated ball park on cost as well? I understand it'll vary but just a rough figure would be great as I've never considered engine swapping before so it's all pretty new.
Cheers,
Niall

316 or 316i? as it is an '88 I am guessing it is an M40 316i.
If it was an '87 316 with an M10 I would have said keep the engine and build it as an M10 turbo on twin carbs
If it is an M40 316i then you have bought the perfect donor for an engine swap.
For costs have a chat to DanThe he is your best bet as that is his area. I think he is a bit busy at the moment but will give you best advice.

Knowing where you are located would be handy?
