Valuation

Morning all
I am new to E30's - a car I have lusted for for a long time.
One has come up that I am very interested in - a near completed project being sold by a friend. I'm just not sure of values.
It's a white '91 318 Touring with M50 installed - history of the engine is known and it has been properly installed. Leather interior.
Original paint with a few marks and dents but scrubs up well. Might need a little welding to front of sills where front wings meet. Otherwise very solid car. Tailgate is a little frilly round the edges so probably would swap that. New coli overs all round. And some nice black 6 spoke alloys (not sure where they're from).
Needs exhaust (I have the steel M52 headers) and power steering plumbing in (has E36 compact rack installed) and general servicing to be road worthy. Then tidying - headlining, fix heater matrix.
Any idea roughly what it would be worth as it is and what it would be with an MOT and running sweet?
Many thanks
Philip

Welcome to the zone mate and make him a silly offer and take it from there you are bound to meet somewhere in the middle or the price will be too much for you to pay.
Mart.

welcome aboard.
when you say the conversion has been done properly- how do you know?
an E30 thats been modified is likely to be worthless than a stock car- 3-4K is about where i would be also.

I don’t know 100%. But all the work has been done by a friend who I trust and is a very good engineer (by profession). I also had another friend who is also an engineer and has restored and modified many cars have a look.
I’ve agreed a price in that range but with all necessary welding (minimal) done.
Cheers

Just had my 320i auto re-valued at 8200€ by" buy you car." (Comprasucoche). In the last 18 months it has gone from 5,700, to 6,200 to 7,200, and now 8,200 Euros that is,

All comments by me should be taken in the right sprite, Jack Daniels is fine.

Just renewed my insurance with Footman James today for my chromie 325i cab, called them to discuss agreed value as i felt last years £6k figure was too low. Now agreed at £16k without seeing a single photo of the car, the kind lady checked valuations and came back with " we have values between £12k and £150k"
Definitely worth looking into agreed value classic car policy if you aren't already on one.

Cheers & thanks for posting & I'm not looking to sell , but I'm not sure what value mine is . It has been at a low side of 7k for quite a few years , its nothing special (only to me) a 2 door 2.0 door SE with a engine upgrade to a 2.5 , full OEM MTech two kit , full stainless steel exhaust , 6 branch , nice interior with HLW system OBC etc . 120k with no rust and passes MOT each year , currently full comp is costing me £130 but like I say valuation is low.Dlb26 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 11, 2022 6:26 pmJust renewed my insurance with Footman James today for my chromie 325i cab, called them to discuss agreed value as i felt last years £6k figure was too low. Never cease to amaze me, the people who want to buy an E30 but have no idea of either the car or the value.
Blanca is up for sale and some of the idiots I have had kick the tyres is ,well , amazing.
There is not a spot of rust or corrosion on it, no holes in the seats etc but they want 15,000€ worth of car for 7,000, If I had the time and money spare I would fix the little niggles myself and up would go the price of course, not exactly a 'fixer upper' but god they nit pick,
"window trim has gone brown", After 34 years, really? "There is a dent on the door", Gosh, all of 2mm. "dash is cracked", There are not many, that are not under 10,000, get real.
So tempted to keep it and just enjoy it for what it is, a 34 year old car.
Rant over
