I assume this was optional on all models and rarely selected? Just how rare are the parts and what's the going rate for them?
The condensor, evaporator and receiver drier I'd just buy new and I'd use the compressor from my donor engine, but the aircon switch for the dash, the heater box with space for the exaporator, and the pipework seem to be impossible to find.omegle xender
Just how rare is aircon in E30s in the UK??

Rare and price depends where you are located.
In the U.S. where air-conditioned E30s are plentiful - cheap-ish.
Here in Australia, not at as cheap.
And in Europe - not plentiful = expensive.
IIRC some of the OE under-dashboard evaporator pipework is NLA.
Some is still available from the dealer and the aftermarket in the U.S. (e.g. Four Seasons)
Best to search using the OE part number from Real OEM.
Be prepared to mix & match OE, AM and locally rebuilt OE parts with new barrier hose.
Switches are available new but expensive.
The heater box assembly or integrated heating & climate system - aka IHKS (Integriert Heizung und Klima System) - can be a challenge if you are not in the USA.
Most of the secondhand IHKS are clapped out and need refurbishment.
Associated heater control valves that attach to the IHKS may also be different to cars with and without A/C.
And don't forget any electrical components, fan, loom, etc.
Technically possible to refit A/C to a non-A/C car but a lot of work.
Having a parts car with A/C is probably the easiest route.

I have a non working system in mine and it's a cabriolet!
It's something I want to get working at some point but I have no idea why it was disconnected. It never had a belt on when I bought it but obviously it will pretty much all need replacement or refurbishment.
