Last 9 or so month my remote locking I have to literally be right at the car for it to work, used to be in my house press it and it would work, I am running the original BMW alarm that's been on it for 31 years. Where are the pickups for the antenna ? Checked the radio antenna and can't see any wires to the alarm.
It's 1990 produced car but 91 registered has the alarm the bonnet which you can put a key in and turn off the alarm box.

Do you have the single button with red LED when arming/disarming and the fob with one corner cut off. If so you have the 3G mk1 and the antenna is on the control box which is usually behind the glove box. Check the battery in the fob. Single screw on fob then it splits in half to expose battery

Ah I remember few years back the alarm didn't work and shut the car down, I ended up finding somehow the black alarm wire behind the glovebox had split so I twister back together and taped it meaning to fix it when I'm home, so I'm guessing it's that. Was like speaker wire thickness, so if I RENEW the length I can see with newer wire would that help ? Same thickness wire or thicker ?

Not an expert on whether itβs a special bit of wire or not. However you can only try and hope for the best. If thereβs an expert in such things on here Iβm sure they will chime in.

Today I found some motivation and decided I'm getting my clicker working from a comfortable distance like it used to be.
So I undid the glovebox upper black plastic hoping to find a bad connection or similar but I found a quick 2 second tape job, A nice one I musta thought as it all seemed to work.
But now Im at home I have time
I cut the wires down 1CM each wire and linked them all I'm as I have no connectors or junction boxes at my home
it all seemed the same but this time everytime I reattach the battery I have to turn the key in the lock ,Lock or unlock just turn the key for the remote clicker to work. But then it exceeded itself I can now get it to lock or unlock from my room about 3.5 e30s length? My dad used to do it to get the cat off the car as it loved the black paint in the sun the heat but used to claw to get on or off. So it seems like it's a Job sorted,
This could help the fact my alarm didn't work, lucky I didn't throw it away Ill have a o try that tomorrow by reconnecting the wires as I thought it was draining my battery.

Glad to hear that you got this sorted, but your description of how you did makes no sense to me.

For today I just clean cut the ends of the wires then twisted them together
Unhooked the battery at the end of the day gonna go get some junction boxes tomorrow and reconnect it all smartly as I can
But I'm happy anyway
