i’ve been thinking and doing some research lately and i would like to know your thoughts on having an e30 as a first car.i’m 17 btw.i have an adequate knowledge in cars and wouldn’t mind working on them.i was also thinking of mainly a k20 swap or at least a m42 swap.appvalley tutuapp tweakbox

Swapping at 17 in an e30 is gonna be hefty insurance.
you could buy one, transfer ownership to your dad and become a named driver though.

It's as good as any for a first car, easy to work on etc but as onthames says, the insurance would be crippling. It's all very well being a named driver on someone else's policy but then you never build any NCB.

Just remember, unlike the euro box that you probably past your test on that drives itself ,YOU have to drive an E30.

and it's also known as fronting & is illegal, if in the event of an accident & the insurance find out the 17yr old is driving the car the most then the shyte hits the fan big time.
if it's got t*ts or wheels it's bound to be trouble...............prove me wrong.

Pretty sure his dad plans to drive it most of the time, mate.
