About 6 six weeks ago my mrs decided she wanted to buy a camper..( in Germany ) and started rumaging about on the net for different models of VW buses...needless to say a newish California for 50k was outside the budget....well she fell in love with a T4 diesel from 1993 on a forecourt around the corner here and bought it.

As an electronics and mechanical engineer it fell to me to start checking her over..( the bus )

6 weeks later and a couple of 500 mile trips things are looking better...still a load of issues to struggle through...not least a new vehicle to get to know...resources...parts...forums...data...blah blah.

I just wanted to say what a fantastic resource this site is for our cars and how incredible the industry support is for spare parts, advice and practicle help.

I kind of expected the same fom VW...but it's simply not there...

I consider our position as BMW owners to be unbelievably well supported and that our network of enthusiasts and engineers is second to none.

Brilliant! Keep it up and happy motoring!

Paul :-)

I'm restoring a Honda CRX at the moment and have found the same thing - have said on more than once occasion that E30 owners don't know how lucky they have it with the Zone being there. Should also point out that despite parts getting rarer, we're still far better served than other marques.

Should have got an Elgrand and converted it, 3.5l V6 ;o))))

If you are ever wanting to visit Austria then go here its was amazing last time I was there about 24 years ago and was pretty basic (no cars allowed on site just to load and unload)

As a point in mind I bought two rear light gaskets from Cotswold this week , I ordered on Tuesday and had them the next day and nearly £15 cheaper than anywhere else.
