Hi Guy`s I`m looking for something that will stick permanently metal to metal so I can put my original pre facelift lights back on.
A couple of the fastening "lugs" have gone over time and I would like to "glue" metal in place rather than weld which I cant do .
Any idea`s please ?

Mart.

Epoxy, something like Araldite steel

Preparation is obviously the key

We use 3M 490 for most jobs that need to go together and stay together. Aston Martin aluminium chassis use 3m 9323 to bond their chassis together. If possible it is a good idea to use some sort of physical fixing as well if at all possible, Rivetts for example and some sort of re-inforcement. Do you have a photo of what you're trying to repair?

I dont want to use rivets as they will protrude into the seal area , so I have found the perfect material !!
It is used to strap goods down to a pallet and is just right for the job winkeye
Hard, flexible and just thrown away most of the time.
I have made a CAD template (cardboard aided .............) and when the "glue " arrives , I will give it a go and take some pics ,win or fail.
It`s the middle two of the lens housing bolts so maybe not "too" important for fixing down hard, who knows.

Betamate 2810 or look up what Lotus use to bond their chassis together as they where way ahead of the likes of Aston etc etc
