I went and bought the one someone showed an advert for on that well known site. Fitted it today.

They are just indicator lights, for whatever reason (probably body shape) the dash ones are obscured when I’m in a comfortable driving position

Hmm, if you're open to all opinions then I'd say an M3 deserves better.

Just to say on the subject I normally put stuff on the car that I like, if others don’t, who cares. It could do with a respray, no rust but stone chips etc but then I’d be even more gutted if someone removed my rear m3 badge with a screwdriver like happened a few weeks ago. Has 154k and although that’s only 5k a year it demonstrates it does get out and about. On the subject of the gauge holder when it arrived it looked nothing like the eBay picture. It was completely covered in build lines. I spent a considerable amount of time filing/sanding and probably should have spent more time on it and sprayed rather than painted. BTW I had put the item in my basket while I thought about it and then received a buy it now offer of £18.
