Mtech 2 kit ABS
Moderator: martauto
Anyone know any good replica mtech 2 kits made from ABS?
Been looking at this kit but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations.
From my understanding there was someone on here a year or so ago in Latvia who had very good ABS kits? Or was it croatia. Anyway I can't find the post now so if anyone remembers please let me know
The kit I'm eyeing up:

If their bumper is as good as their knee panel then Mr. Bodykits will have a winner. See https://mrbodykits.com.au/products/top- ... 9796015182

Just tried their website. they don't do shipping to England, how did you manage to get a knee panel from them?twenty wrote: ↑Sun May 23, 2021 10:25 pmIf their bumper is as good as their knee panel then Mr. Bodykits will have a winner. See https://mrbodykits.com.au/products/top- ... 9796015182

Still a decent price though, considering the eye-watering cost and scarcity of originals.twenty wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 7:13 pmLooks like the Australian kit marked up.RB2 wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 6:54 pmUk based company selling Plastic Tech 2 kits.

BMW has started producing a few bits of the MTECH 2 kit again and they are actually reasonably priced.Cloggy Saint wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 7:46 pmStill a decent price though, considering the eye-watering cost and scarcity of originals.twenty wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 7:13 pmLooks like the Australian kit marked up.RB2 wrote: ↑Mon May 24, 2021 6:54 pmUk based company selling Plastic Tech 2 kits.

Interesting, are these ABS kits better than the fibreglass ones?
I don't think I would fit an original kit to a non-factory car these days, I'd be too worried about it now they're so valuable. Still love the look though, curious about aftermarket options.

Fibreglass breaks easily, harder to fit, and hard to modify for fitting, also no fibre glass ones seem to have oem style mounting.
I just bought one from streettech based on this post here:

I wanted a mrbodykits one cos they have very good reviews, but they are in AUS and shipping is far too expensive to UK. But, I did stay up until the early hours (and used a lot of credit) to phone them as the streettech kit looked VERY similar, possibly the same mould. They basically confirmed it was, so that's what persuaded me into trying the street tech one. I'll let you know how it fits.
Thanks for letting me know, do you have any pictures of yours fitted?

Fitment is near perfect but took a lot of work at the bodyshop. Kit was very well made but needed slight adjustment like any aftermarket kit, and was apparently quite hard to adjust but looks really good in the end. I'll do a walk around video tomorrow pointing out the few tiny flaws there are. But it looks really good. Very happy with itCloggy Saint wrote: ↑Sat Jul 17, 2021 12:03 amThat looks good, how is it in the flesh? And now will someone, anyone produce a replica Mtech touring rear spoiler?!

Wow that came out awesome!

Cheers pal
Hi guys. Little update:
The kit is polyprop and 3m vhb (for sideskirts) doesn't stick well. Discovered this after one of them fell off! Luckily it wasnt damaged as it slowly peeled off when parked up!
If anybody fits this kit/gets a bodyshop to fit it make sure to tell them to use 3m VHB Universal UV primer (2 coats) on the kit where 3m vhb will be applied. Works a treat. Ain't coming off now.
