evening folks,

just putting this out there.

if anyone is looking to either replace or upgrade their brake servo/M/C & cant afford the 750iL M/C & mk1 golf/porker 944/clio combo.

have a look at the e90 brake servo & M/C.

the diameter of the servo is a lot smaller, but it is longer due to being a dual diaphragm servo, also the M/C is a 25.4mm (F) & 23.8mm (R) M/C, but you will need 2 M10 female to M12 male adapters for your bake lines to fit,

also you may be able to use the reservoir as well, if not one from a 2002 ti will fit right on top with the correct grommets.

also, it mounts up exactly the same, no need to alter the holes in the bulkhead.

the main brucie bonus is they are easy to find in most scrap yards & should be pretty cheap as i got the whole thing for £20.

like i said, just putting this out there.

massive thanks to sean (flybynite) for the heads up on it.

You can also use a brake booster and master cylinder from an X3. For a left hand drive , it even easier to install, because the brake lines are attached to the same side as an E30. Not sure which side the RHD master cylinders are.

i'd read about the X3 one, i must have got lucky because the ports on the one i got are on the left hand side.

The problem is LHD (US) E90 have the master cyl with outputs on the opposite side to the E30. UK RHD ones are the same as the E30. People in the US were importing UK E90 master cylinders for that reason or using the X3 which have the same M/C as UK E90

i'll be fitting it in the next few days (when it stops raining), & if i remember i'll take some pics along the way,

just got to make a little T piece for the front brakes & see if i can use the e30 reservoir cap, if not i've got a 2002 one i can use.
