funny that?!?!?

thought the e36 kicked in on the J plate-91/92 model year?!

Maybe its one that was only registered in 93/94 having sat about on some dealer's yard for a coulpe of years?

my mate once had a Honda civic that was built in '97 but first registered on a 98/99 S plate 8O

The e36 started its run in 91.
However the E30 touring and convertable keept running untill 94 as there was no modle in e36 form offered untill then.

I think this is right.

Yep Richy exactly right :D

Only certain engines were continued though.

Oh and 320Touring, there are a few E36s about on an H plate, so I'm guessing these started production around mid 91.

OK, here's the E36 firsts:

Saloon - 318i & 325i - 11/89 (I think it must have been a while before they arrived at British dealers!!)
Coupe - 325i - 10/90
Cabby - 320i - 11/92
Compact - 316i - 06/93
Touring - 320i - 05/94

Just double checked - RHD Saloon production didn't start until 08/90 and RHD Touring production started in 12/94.

As usual with BMW, the full range was phased in over a long period!

sorry about the e36

worked in motor auctions for years but never saw one on an H plate, however, I do not doubt it for a minute!

esp when you see some of the early e36 interiors-very 80's chic
