I've got a Lazur blue iS with the wrong (i. eblack leather) interior. I'm just doing a deal to swap over to cloth but what options 'could' it have come with for the colour/tone of the standard check??

It should have a light grey check pattern for the seats if it was blue (unless it had the half cloth / half leather trim). Check out the interior pictures in dark_sounds IS cloth interior link in the parts for sale section for a good guide. The door cards should have plain cloth inserts in the same colour.

Hope this helps (and i'm right!).

the checked cloth was standard on them, but black leather was an optional upgrade, so why swop back!

So i have read leather on 318is's was only offered in black

Cheers guys. I'm not a fan of leather - freezing in winter, hot in summer and if you press on hard thru' the twisties you end up sliding all over the place!! I've done a deal with the guy whos fitting an M50 motor for me - set of cloth seats + Ԛ£200... What do you reckon?

sounds a fair deal if your leather is the Sport type.
