Can someone settle a discussion.

My brother had a 1.8 BMW 316 on an old X plate (ABC 123X) - It had single headlamps...is it possible that it is an E30 or would it be another E number?

Not seen one on here and rarely see one on the roads.

cheers

I was reading about this today in my BMW book i got for christmas at tea break!

And i'm sure it said factory standard E30's all came with quad lamps, and only the very basic 4 pot E21's for Europe ever came with 2, but in the US all E21's had 4 lamps.

Yeah it had that plastic grooved thing in the middle. Being a 316 it didnt look as good as that one.

Anyway i pretty certain its an E21...

lower e21 models had single headlight higher engined e21's had quad lights this was then brought onto the e30 as a standard feature. I have it a book i was bought for xmas too, it's a BMW publication I think only avaliable from BMW about Ԛ£25 and very high quality book one of the best I have seen in a while

this book is wicked loads of tech stuff and detailed history on the development of the E30 M3,S14's S42's E36 touring cars, and bmw's engine guru Paul Rosche who had a hand in every bmw engine u can think of for the past 25 years!

It's abit heavy but i like it!

I can't remember the name though!
