Back of Boot Lock trim??

The back of the lock in the boot is bare metal with a couple of screw holes - and the carpet is cut out to accomodate the lock mechanism.

Is there supposed to be some kind of cover over this? I always thought it looked un finished...

I was told by Pacer its meant to be like that, if you have the 15" 205/55 spare than you need the extra foam panel/bed.
