Hi All

Ive just got my E30 back from restoration and one thing that still bugs me is the back box, it sits far too low for my liking so I need to get it looked at. I have seen two options for this car, the one mine has fitted and also a back box with an oval profile which I believe will sit closer to the car, is anyone aware if this would fit my car?

Or are there any other alternatives I should consider?

Also, can't help but think the rear valance would look much better white.......

The rear valance should be white (body colour) as it was from the factory. The sill was painted black below the crease so the lower edge of the body colour lines up with a fully painted rear valance.

Who decided to paint it black?

Back box does tend to look like it sits low on a chromie as it comes out under the rear valance (not through a cut out as in the facelift. If you pull it too close to the car it will rattle and bang on the underside of the body.

You might be able to move it a bit higher by 'twisting' it at the middle joint but not much (is stretching the rubbers?)

That does look much better, it was the bodyshop who decided to do it black.

I'm going to nip out and get some matt black heat resistant paint for the exhaust and at the same time, I'm going to get some white and go over the black on the rear valance.
