Hi There,

Was hoping the community could help me out here.

Currently own a 320i E30 and has a straight 6 Lump!

I have some Wires hanging underneath the steering which i do not know what their use is.

Maybe someone who has seen a simlar thing could shed some light.

There seems to be a black Switch connected to 2 wires and also 2 seperate wires hanging.

I have attached the image

They are not standard, someone has wired them in at sometime for their own reasons.

Could be leftovers for a kill switch or some other type of DIY security system.

You’ll need to follow the wires to see where they splice into (the colour wire).

As above. The only thing I can say for sure is that none of them were fitted by BMW.
What's the object under the steering column where it passes through the bulkhead?

You need to follow the wires back to where they join the car loom, make a note of the colour of the wires they splice into.

Always good fun undoing other people's creative wiring

Looks like a positive junction post from a bad stereo install. Good ones are fused (and securely mounted)

I would reserve judgement on that until I saw the other end of the wires :D

I’d say it should be fairly plain to see someone has lashed those in and they definitely aren’t a factory item.

Any idea how much Rca wire is needed to run from head unit to an amp in the boot of a 91 cabby.

Thanks

Ozzy
