Interesting to see what it fetches and more importantly if the winner actually pays and turns up to collect it.
Even more interesting would be how much of it is salvageable under the pile of leaves and carpet watermarks, could easily be a straightforward strip and rebuild to an absolute money pit

Very curious to see what that goes for...looks like an absolute nightmare to sort and already feels overpriced

Exactly this. You just can't tell from those pics. Surface rust creeps along under paint when a car is parked up, bubbling the paint above it, but doing no structural damage.
My M tec II touring had sat in the open for just under two years with a couple of windows partly open and the tailgate not latched when I bought it, and the water level inside was as high as it could be everywhere. I drove it home with waves lapping around my feet, and mini tsunamis happening every time I accelerated or braked.
The carpets were fine after cleaning and the floor pan was still painted and free of rust. The only significant parts that were written off were the seats. They looked fine, but deteriorated rapidly when used.

as always, depends on your point of view.
4 bags is pushing the friendship, but the uncracked dash, rear pop-outs+shadowline, early 2.5 with box, 63L tank plus 6 button is of potential interest.
Rent a flatbed and a pleasant 2 days to Scotland and back.

Even if all of that works (and that's a big IF) it's about a grand and a half - two grand even in today's prices. If the body is a tea bag you would be struggling to make that money back by fragging it.
Would have to have a really good poke around that one first. There is a lot of proper gone-through rust on the back end. Inner arches and boot floor are not cheap or easy to do right. Uncommon though they are, they are around and better ones do come up. Have to be prepared to walk away from that one.
Prices have taken a jump last 6 months or so for cars and bits because lots of people still have money and have nothing better to do. Not sure demand is going to stay there for the medium term though.
Drive to Scotland is more pleasant if you are half way there already

£6,889.00 as the hammer fell. Dreamer, off the wall or genuine, who knows? Wait to see if it's back on ebay again next week.

Agreed that's crazy money for a heap like that. The winning bidder must have more money than sense paying nearly 7k for that. Just insane. If it's genuine, the seller must be laughing all the way to the bank...minesapint wrote: ↑Sat May 23, 2020 9:39 pmThis is the world gone mad.
