Hey guys,

I've got two wiper washer bottles in my engine bay, am I right in thinking one of them was for headlight washers? For a while I thought one might be just water and the other concentrate.

If it is for headlight washers looks as if they've been ripped from the car at some point :(

One is for normal diluted screenwash for everyday use. The smaller bottle should contain a special concentrated screenwash that is only intended to be used occasionally, such as when it first rains after a dry spell, or you've been following some old diesel spewing black smoke and cancer. it is operated by the push in end of the wiper stalk, marked BC.
Healamp washer pump is on the inner wing side of the larger tank.
Same arrangement is used on later BMWs.

Ha wow bmw thought of it all, a light and heavy screen wash.

I’ve taken the bottle off to clean out and there is a third pump for headlight washers. Following the pipe ends in a sad bolt block.

Why would someone remove them? I really like the look. Do you think it’s worth trying to re-install a set?

Refitting the washer jets shouldn't cost much, but the E30 was the only BMW on which they were paired with wipers. All subsequent models use a high power washer pump without wipers. Without the RH wiper motor, the washer pump won't work either - the pump is controlled by a cam driven microswitch in the gear housing.
The " heavy and light " screenwash system was continued on later models, if specified. Fitted to my E39 daily load lugger.

I literally can’t even find a set online 😂So I’m sure when it does come up it’ll be pricey.

It looks like I’m missing the wiper motor and the wiper blades

The wiper blade assemblies are incredibly expensive for what they are. Some old Volvos had a similar system, but I don't know if any of the parts can be adapted.
