My e30 is a track oriented toy, 2.7 ect.
So I bought a fibreglass bonnet a while back, single skin type, this is very wobbly.
At speed its opening up at the front flapping about.
Had an idea, got time on my hands, the original bonnet, a grinder & glue.
Cut the skin of the metal bonnet use the metal frame with the fibreglass skin.
Job done
Lightweight bonnet

Jesus man that is keen haha! Most of us add a central pin to the bonnet. Be great to see some more updates on your motorsport section thread

I couldn't say for an E30 but an E36 compact bonnet weighs approx 17kgs
I had a carbon fibre one on my track car and it weighed iirc 5 or 6kgs. Massive weight saving.
