To sunroof or not to sunroof

Before I start, is there an ongoing discussion about the merits/pitfalls of deleting sunroofs? I know the subject's been spoken about at length..

Is there a supplier of decent-quality (I'd be overpainting anyway but,) sunroof plugs? Preferably UK-based

The advantages are weight loss and prevention of future rust issues. As far as I know there are no easy ways to do it, some people have resorted to changing the whole roof skin.
