i bought this motor sport prepared type e30 project about a year ago and it's sat in the corner of my unit until now, it's got an m52 b28 fitted and after having a good look at things in the engine bay i've noticed the matrix was bypassed with a copper pipe and the top matrix pipe stub hadn't been cut to fit the m52 so i thought/hoped they just didn't bother plumbing it up.

no such luck  after connecting the hoses back up the matrix is p1ssing water into the cabin so it needs changed and looks a royal pita to do with the brake pedal rod connections to the servo and the servo bracket all in the way .

anyhoo after a search through the wiki all i can find is how to change the heater valve and not the heater core/matrix .

is there a guide that i've missed or done the wrong search or is it just not covered ??

help greatly appreciated :D

Hi I did my last initially it was just going to be the valve but on further investigation my core was also leaking , Its more than doable but expect a few curses and back ache trying to find the most comfortable position to work in . Apologies if you don't speak arabic

i watched the first vid before i posted on here , it doesn't show the matrix being removed just the valve .

i've took loads apart but never done a matrix swap but i'm sure after a bit of ball scratching i'll get there or...... frag it

You have to remove the brake servo bracket to get it out, pretty straight forward
