Well, if it makes you feel any better, I'm knocking on the door of 31 (that's double your age) and I still don't own an M3... but I do own my own house and have a comfortable life, which in my opinion is better than being 15 and not knowing the true value of money.

Still... a lucky lad to own (or be given) an M3 at the tender age of 15.

Sod the fact he is 15, the FACT is the car cost Ԛ£2800 8O

Maxfield, I dont think you can drive to school, in some states like texas, you can drive on your own range and the roads around them from the age of 12 but I think thats all stopped now!

The only reason kids don't get cars like that over here is because of insurance, planty of affordable fast cars out there now.

Gutted.... But surely you can do better than a corsa.....They just have got such a 'boy' chav image...

My first car was a 1989 ford escort 1300 popular with a 1400s engine which had a k@n bolt on filter and a ported, polished and skimmed head, and vauxhall astra gte recaro seats innit...
In college when i was 17 it was the nuts, it would annihilate any 1600 escort or orion no problems......also bein a 5 door ford it wasnt too bad on insurance... winkeye
The other good point was the fact that they are so easy to work on....practically anyone with a toolkit can fiddle about under the hood... :D

But surely buying a 1.0 corsa is more pricey than a little ford of some sort...? :)
Plus the fact that you can service old fords urself means that they are cheap to run if you look at it like that.... No garages involved...!!!! :D
Ive just nevva been a fan of any vauxhalls...

How about a Mk2 Golf? I had a 1.3 on a J plate and ran it for 18 months. Bought it for Ԛ£500 and it was mint! And very very cheap to run. Failing that, look at a Polo... much better than a bloody Corsa.

Keep it German.

Belmonts are UGLY though... like a Peugeot 309... Yuk!

Keep it VW and you won't go wrong. Parts are cheap (GSF) and they're VERY easy to work on.

Lupos are new and expensive though.. If you are looking to have an m3 in the near future you gotta settle for a banger so you can save money.....Ask your dad if he buys you a banger now then he can help on the purchase of the m3 later....? winkeye

havin somethin new and 'respectable' only means that when it goes wrong it'll go to the garage...diminishing ur savings every time....
Also buying and insuring a newer car is more expensive in the first place....... :?

you will struggle to get insured on an m3 under 21 years old btw.

big names wont touch you, brokers might but costly !

so say a good m3 costs Ԛ£6K, insurance is gonna be Ԛ£3k minumum !!

Ԛ£9 grand... for an OLD car ??
